Michelle Pearce

Office Manager
Michelle joined the firm in 2015, taking on the newly formed role of Office Manager. She oversees the smooth running of the office, and is leading the development of new systems and processes to push the firm forward with its plans for digital accounting.

People development and culture is imperative to the firm and Michelle drives the business strategy keeping the people focus at its heart. She has a great deal of experience in office and people management across the public and private sector.

Jane Barlow FCILEx TEP SFE

Probate Manager
Jane is a Chartered Legal Executive, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a CILEx regulated Probate Practitioner. Jane joined RRL in 2016 as the firm’s Probate Manager.

Jane believes strongly in working closely with clients and other advisers to ensure the best client outcome. In a career that spans over 40 years, she has gained extensive experience in wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate planning, estate administration, probate and inheritance tax. Jane has a reputation for being approachable and her ability to explain often complex legal issues in a direct and easy to understand manner.

Paula Budge FCCA

Manager
After graduating with a degree in Mathematics, Paula joined the firm in 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000.

Paula looks after a wide range of clients and specialises in company, sole trader and partnership accounts for small and medium sized businesses. Her role covers preparation of year end accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and CT61 submissions. Paula’s clients include hotels, campsites, property developers, retail and solicitors.

Paula is supported by a team consisting of both qualified accountants and those currently studying as part of the firm’s apprenticeship programme.

Amalia Chambers ACA

Charities Manager
After graduating from the University of York, Amalia returned to Cornwall to pursue a career in accountancy. She completed her training and exams with the firm, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Amalia has been involved in the preparation and audit of accounts since joining the firm and specialises in the charity and not for profit sector. She now assists in managing the audits of these specific clients as well as completing independent examinations, grant funder audits and internal audits. The not for profit sector has its own specific demands and Amalia is well placed to offer advice in terms of accountancy and governance. She is also able to assist with Charity Commission requirements such as the Annual Return.

Lynn King FCA

Manager
Lynn is the firm’s Manager in charge of Audit and Assurance and has been with RRL since 1992 having joined from university, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Lynn holds the ICAEW Audit qualification and specialises in statutory and client money audits for companies, charities, solicitors and FCA registered firms. She also has a wide range of non-audit clients in a variety sectors ranging from small companies to sole traders and partnerships, providing accountancy and corporation tax services.

Lynn is integral to the smooth running of the firm as she oversees the firm’s internal quality control procedures and is the firm’s Training Manager, helping to develop the next generation of Chartered Accountants.

Mikaela Richards FCCA

Manager
Mikaela joined the firm in 1999, after graduating from Bournemouth University, and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003. She became a Team Manager in 2008 and currently oversees a team of qualified and apprentice accountants.

Mikaela is an open and approachable manager who specialises in limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts for small and medium sized businesses from a variety of sectors and deals with Company Secretarial matters for the firm.

Mikaela also deals with VAT returns, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns and has previous experience in external auditing.

Penny Roberts

Manager
Penny joined the firm in 2014 and has a background in auditing, in addition to extensive experience of management accounts preparation. She now manages RRL’s management accounts department.

Penny looks after a wide range of clients and has an in-depth knowledge of cloud accounting software. She is accredited in the use of Xero, QuickBooks and Receipt Bank. As a Manger, Penny is currently leading her team in the training of clients to use cloud accounting software in preparation of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital proposals.

Carole Thomas MAAT

Manager
Carole has worked for the firm for over 25 years. In that time, she has specialised in the production of management accounts and in the implementation of new accounting systems, and frequently assists clients with the application of new accounting practices.

Carole has extensive experience of managing a portfolio which includes sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and guiding businesses through the various stages of the business life cycle, helping them to optimize their returns at any given stage.

Polly Tregaskes FCA CTA

Tax Manager
Polly joined the firm as a Chartered Accountant trainee in July 2001 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, before going on to specialise in taxation, qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2005.

Polly is a Tax Manager in the firm’s tax team. She has a wide and in-depth knowledge of both personal and corporate taxation and is also responsible for managing the firm’s trust clients. She acts as many clients go to point for VAT matters, assisting Partner Stephen Gainey, the firm’s VAT specialist.
