Michelle Pearce

Practice Director
Michelle is the firm’s Practice Director. She oversees the smooth running of both the Truro and Penzance offices, and is always leading the development of new systems and processes to push the firm forward with its plans for digital accounting.

People development and culture is imperative to the firm and Michelle drives the business strategy keeping the people focus at its heart. She has a great deal of experience in office and people management across the public and private sector.

David Hastings FMAAT ACA

Audit Director
David joined RRL in 2026 as Audit Director, he has been working in audit since 2014, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2021. David is proud to have worked with a vast range of established audited and non-audited organisations across Cornwall over the years, including many charities, societies, private trading companies and sole traders across various sectors, providing services across many areas of accountancy.

David offers practical advice and solutions to clients, being attentive and responsive to client needs as part of his commitment to providing a quality service for our clients. David is dedicated to a personal approach, both with clients and the audit team.

Paula Budge FCCA

Manager
After graduating with a degree in Mathematics, Paula joined the firm in 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000.

Paula looks after a wide range of clients and specialises in company, sole trader and partnership accounts for small and medium sized businesses. Her role covers preparation of year end accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and CT61 submissions. Paula’s clients include hotels, campsites, property developers, retail and solicitors.

Paula is supported by a team consisting of both qualified accountants and those currently studying as part of the firm’s apprenticeship programme.

Amalia Chambers ACA

Charities Manager
After graduating from the University of York, Amalia returned to Cornwall to pursue a career in accountancy. She completed her training and exams with the firm, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Amalia has been involved in the preparation and audit of accounts since joining the firm and specialises in the charity and not for profit sector. She now assists in managing the audits of these specific clients as well as completing independent examinations, grant funder audits and internal audits. The not for profit sector has its own specific demands and Amalia is well placed to offer advice in terms of accountancy and governance. She is also able to assist with Charity Commission requirements such as the Annual Return.

Zoe Derriman FCCA

Audit Manager
Zoe joined the firm as a manager in 2026, specialising in the preparation of accounts and the audit of limited companies and charities. She began her accountancy career as an apprentice in 1996 and has spent over 30 years working in practice in Cornwall. Zoe qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2006.

Zoe works with a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses across a wide range of sectors. She is committed to delivering a high-quality, personal service and takes pride in building strong relationships with her clients. With a practical and proactive approach, Zoe enjoys helping businesses strengthen their internal controls and will suggest improvements that can be made to support their long-term success.

Mikaela Richards FCCA

Manager
Mikaela joined the firm in 1999, after graduating from Bournemouth University, and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003. She became a Team Manager in 2008 and currently oversees a team of qualified and apprentice accountants.

Mikaela is an open and approachable manager who specialises in limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts for small and medium sized businesses from a variety of sectors and deals with Company Secretarial matters for the firm.

Penny Roberts

Manager
Penny joined the firm in 2014 and has a background in auditing, in addition to extensive experience of management accounts preparation. She now manages RRL’s management accounts department.

Penny looks has an in-depth knowledge of cloud accounting software. She is accredited in the use of Xero, QuickBooks and Receipt Bank.

Amy Smith CTA

Tax Manager
Amy studied for her ATT qualification in Cornwall before moving to London, where she trained as a Chartered Tax Adviser, qualifying in 2016. She joined RRL in 2019 as Tax Manager.

Amy specialises in private client work, particularly personal tax returns, capital gains tax, residency and non-domiciled individuals.

Carole Thomas MAAT

Manager
Carole joined the firm in 1990. Since that time, she has specialised in the production of management accounts and in the implementation of new accounting systems, and frequently assists clients with the application of new accounting practices.

Carole has extensive experience of managing a portfolio of clients which includes sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and guiding businesses through the various stages of the business life cycle, helping them to optimize their returns at any given stage.

Polly Tregaskes FCA CTA

Tax Manager
Polly joined the firm as a Chartered Accountant trainee in July 2001 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, before going on to specialise in taxation, qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2005.

Polly is a Tax Manager in the firm’s tax team. She has a wide and in-depth knowledge of both personal and corporate taxation and is responsible for managing the firm’s trust clients. She acts as many clients go to point for VAT matters.

Michelle Dash FCCA

Manager
Michelle initially trained for her AAT exams, then qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2011, joining the firm as a manager in January 2024.

Michelle started her accountancy career in 2003, and has well rounded experience in multiple areas of accountancy and tax, dealing with sole traders, partnerships, small limited companies and individuals.
