We understand that letters addressed to relevant businesses are now starting to be received from Cornwall Council asking them to confirm that they believe that they are eligible for either of the two COVID-19 grant support schemes.

We understand that if you are able to complete the form by 6 April 2020, the aim of Cornwall Council is to make the payment by 9 April 2020. It is our understanding that any successful applications received after this time will be paid at weekly intervals (the full payment will be made, but payment runs will only take place once a week).
If you feel that you are eligible but you have not yet received your letter, we would direct you to the Business Rates and Coronavirus information page on Cornwall Council’s website.
Please note that this support is based on Business Rates registration. Some small businesses (eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund) may not have received a letter as they had not previously registered for Business Rates (as they may not have felt it necessary was they would have been eligible for relevant reliefs – such as the Small Business Rate Relief, Rural Rate Relief and tapered relief). In this case, you should contact Cornwall Council.
