Becoming a Client

We appreciate that choosing an accountant for the first time, or deciding to change accountants if you already have one, can be a little daunting.

We hope that having had a look at our website you will feel that we have something to offer you and, just as important, that we appear to be a friendly and approachable crowd.

If you would like to take things further, please email or telephone to arrange a meeting with one of our partners.  This initial meeting will be free of charge and at that meeting you will be able to ask questions about anything which concerns you.

We want to understand you and your business as this is the best position from which to give you the correct advice.

You may want us to take over the accounts for your business, or prepare your personal tax return, or you may have a specific tax problem you would like our advice on.  Whatever your need, we will be happy to discuss it without charge at a first meeting.

At such a meeting we should be able to give you an indication of the cost involved in dealing with your affairs, and in most cases we are able to give you a specific quote for the work.

If you decide to use our services, you will be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to change – basically, apart from signing a few letters and forms, which we will draft for you, we will deal with it for you.  This includes liaising with your previous accountant, the tax office and Companies House, if applicable.

Please do not hesitate to telephone us or use the ‘contact us’ facility on this site.

Testimonials

“I did not think I could afford a good accountant, I now realise I cannot afford to be without one”.

“What I find sets Robinson Reed Layton apart is the people.

The partners and staff are exceptionally mentally agile and genuinely help my business prosper by thinking laterally.  They put themselves in my shoes to clarify the options and a way forward.  They are personable, they communicate well with each other and I believe they truly care about their clients’ financial welfare.

This is an amazing combination.

To conclude, Robinson Reed Layton provides much more than an accountancy job.”

“The change from Local Authority Maintained School to Academy School status, was inevitably going to be a complex and time consuming process.  Removing the ‘umbrella’ protection of the Local Authority meant that as an Academy we were liable to increasingly stringent financial controls, checks and balances.  Having to ensure that a myriad of new financial regulations were in place and implemented within a given timescale, was never going to be straightforward.

However, we believe that we made the correct decision in appointing Robinson Reed Layton as our Auditors.  They have been extremely helpful; providing sound and timely advice, always with unlimited patience.

The political arena appears to be in continual state flux and as such, we require auditors who understand our ethos and who will work with us in ‘pushing the envelope’ as far as practicable, within the confines of appropriate legislation and who are prepared to evolve with us; Robinson Reed Layton do just that.

A professional, friendly, ‘local’ practice which meets our criteria for ‘value for money’ and whose involvement has no doubt, contributed in part, to our continuing success.”

“Life is busy and tax remains an issue that you need to do your best on.  Robinson Reed Layton give me great confidence and they are well on top of the job, without making life more complicated.

When I was working, I dealt with the Big Five and, in contrast, when I retired I tried a very small accountancy firm which caused some difficulties.

Robinson Reed Layton were recommended to me and they absolutely fit the bill for us regarding our personal and business needs”.

“There is a clear and distinct face to the organisation.  The right people are always available and we can always be in touch with the people that are actually involved in our affairs.  There’s no getting lost in the system when staff rotate and Partners are not obscured by thick tiers of hierarchy.

The firm is very responsive to queries and staff have a nice, empathetic manner that gives best service.  It’s a proactive, stable organisation that builds an excellent working understanding of your needs and I continue to recommend them.”

“Robinson Reed Layton, and specifically their Tax Partner, provide us with the necessary expertise to manage our most complex tax cases.

While our firm regularly undertakes a large amount of tax consultancy and compliance work for individuals, partnerships, trusts, corporate and other business entities, we call on him when we need specialist input for high-end tax cases.

Having previously worked for the Revenue, he has insider knowledge and can therefore see matters from both sides.  He is familiar with the Revenue’s processes and this experience, combined with his extensive knowledge of the tax system is extremely valuable, especially in contentious matters.

Working with Robinson Reed Layton is highly beneficial for our firm, and we strongly recommend their consultancy services to other Chartered Accountancy firms.”

“From our experience of Robinson Reed Layton over many years, they are both proactive and responsive.”

“We have worked with Robinson Reed Layton for over 15 years and continue to find them efficient, friendly and accessible.

Accuracy is, of course, essential in accountancy and we can trust the firm to deliver on time, too.

They always communicate well and we can rely on the staff always calling back when they say they will.

In summary, Robinson Reed Layton are extremely helpful and easy to deal with on what can be complex issues.”
