Michelle Pearce

Office Manager

Michelle joined the firm in 2015 to take on the newly formed role of Office Manager. She oversees the smooth running of the office, and is leading the development of new systems and processes to push the firm forward with its plans for digital accounting. People development and culture is imperative to the firm and Michelle drives the business strategy keeping the people focus at its heart. She has a great deal of experience in office and people management across the public and private sector.

When not at work Michelle enjoys dancing, keeping fit in the fresh air, socialising with friends and family and is discovering a new interest in exploring the Cornish coastline from the water. She loves to travel and explore other countries and cultures.

Jane Barlow FCILEx TEP SFE

Probate Manager

Jane is a Chartered Legal Executive, admitted in 1983, and also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She specialises in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate and administration of estates.

She emigrated from Birmingham to Cornwall over 20 years ago and is a keen hill and moorland walker, for which she holds a nationally recognised qualification in navigation skills. She is also a recreational cyclist and a volunteer Ranger for the charity Sustrans, responsible for a section of the National Cycle Network in the west of Cornwall.

Paula Budge BSc (Hons) FCCA


After graduating with a degree in Mathematics, Paula joined the firm in 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000. As a Team Manager, Paula looks after a wide range of clients, including PLCs and specialises in company, sole trader and partnership accounts for small and medium sized businesses.

Paula enjoys keeping fit by attending fitness classes, swimming, cycling and walking. Paula is also a member of her local running club and enjoys entering local races, including a number of half marathons recently. She also enjoys weekend breaks, especially shopping sprees!

Amalia Chambers BA (Hons) ACA

Charities Manager

After graduating from the University of York with a degree in Music, Amalia returned to Cornwall and decided to pursue a career in accountancy. She completed her training and exams with the firm and has qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Whilst training, Amalia won the International Orders of Merit Knox Prize by achieving Joint First Place in the September 2013 Tax Compliance examination.

Amalia is involved in the accounts preparation and audit of a variety of organisations, specialising in the not for profit sector.

When Amalia is not busy running around after her young daughter, she enjoys her passion for music, is an avid reader and relishes spending time with her family and friends.

Lynn Taylor

Lynn King BSc (Hons) FCA

Assurance Manager

Lynn is the firm’s Assurance Manager, and has been with RRL since 1992.

Lynn holds the ICAEW Audit qualification and specialises in large company audits, client money audits, groups of companies, company and sole trader and partnership accounts.

Lynn enjoys kayaking, watching rugby, live music and loves Moto GP.

Mikaela Richards BA (Hons) FCCA


Mikaela joined the firm in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003. She became a Team Manager in 2008.

Mikaela specialises in limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts and has a particular interest in business
start-ups and growing companies.

The majority of Mikaela’s spare time is taken up chasing and clearing up after her son (and husband!) but in her rare free time she enjoys walking, swimming, going to the cinema, reading and trying to cook!

Penny Roberts


Penny joined the firm in 2014 with a background in auditing and has extensive experience of management accounts preparation.

Penny is kept busy in her spare time with cooking, reading, Zumba, movies and walking her crazy dog.

Carole Thomas MAAT


Having worked for the firm for over 25 years, Carole has extensive experience of managing a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, specialising in the production of management accounts and in the implementation of new accounting systems.

Most of her spare time is devoted to looking after her two sons and socialising with her friends.

Polly Tregaskes BEng (Hons) FCA CTA

Tax Manager

Polly joined the firm as a Chartered Accountant trainee in July 2001 having achieved a first class degree in Mineral Engineering. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and went on to specialise in taxation.

Polly qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2005 and is now a Tax Manager in the firm’s tax team. She has a general knowledge of both personal and corporate taxation and is responsible for managing the firm’s trust clients. She also assists Stephen Gainey, the firm’s VAT specialist, with VAT matters.

Polly is a keen sailor in her spare time and regularly takes part in local racing.
