NS & Toby at Farm Business AwardsRobinson Reed Layton were proud to support this year’s Cornwall Farm Business Awards, held on 26th February, at The Pavilion Centre, Royal Cornwall Showground.

We were the official sponsors for the Best Farm Processor category which was judged by Partner, Nick Skerratt. At the event Nick presented the award to the winner, Toby Roskilly, from Roskilly’s Ice Cream, St Keverne.

The Best Farm Processing Award recognises leaders in the industry who take their produce and process it into a new and different product.

Nick was thrilled to take part saying:

“I greatly enjoyed visiting and learning about the shortlisted businesses during the judging.

“Farm Processing is a necessary part of the local agricultural industry. Adding value to primary produce through the development of new innovative high quality products is enabling many farmers to grow and develop.

“Toby has proved himself to be a sector leader by building Roskilly’s to the business it is today, using milk from their farm cows to produce ice cream and fudge, as well as providing access to their farm operation to the public.

“The other nominees , Jon and Vicky Brown from Bocaddon Farm Veal, Looe and James Kittow from Kittow’s Butchers, Par, should also be highly commended as they are processing and creating products that have received many accolades.

“The Cornwall Farm Business Awards is an excellent celebration of Cornish farming and I hope we can be involved again next year.”

The Cornwall Farm Business Awards were launched to highlight innovation and resilience in the farming industry in Cornwall.

Agriculture is one of the biggest contributors to Cornwall’s economy and the awards celebrate industry leaders who are at the forefront of their field.
